Keep - Problem - Try framework is a structured approach to conducting team retrospectives. The goal of the framework is to identify what worked well in a project, what problems were encountered, and what new ideas could be tried in the near future.
The first step of the KPT process is to identify what went well with the project. This is the "Keep" phase. The team should make a list of all the things that worked well and contributed to the success of the project. It's important to take the time to identify all of these items, even if they seem obvious, as they provide a foundation for future projects.
The second step is to identify what problems were encountered during the project. This is the "Problem" phase. The team should brainstorm all of the problems they encountered during the project, no matter how big or small. Once all the problems are identified, the team should assign a member to research and find possible solutions to each problem. This ensures that the team is prepared to handle any similar problems that arise in future projects.
The third step is to identify new ideas that could be tried in future projects. This is the "Try" phase. The team should be encouraged to share any ideas they have, no matter how unconventional they may seem. These ideas should be discussed and implemented in the next project to see how they work out. Even if an idea doesn't work out, it's still a valuable learning experience for the team.
